 A portion of our mission at Alaska Baptist Church states, ‘Our mission is ….. to reach our community with the Gospel.’ This would mean our local and global communities.
Pursuing Influence within our Community is

Individually reaching out to those whom God has placed in our lives.

Providing opportunities, personally, locally and globally, to introduce people to Jesus.

Outreach is very important to us as a church. We expect each attendee to go into the world, wherever God has placed them and carry the Gospel to those in need. This is a personal commitment that we should all take seriously. AS a church, we strive to provide opportunities and create the environments where we can influence our community for the Kingdom of God.
Matthew 28:19 - "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit."
 Our latest local opportunity for reaching out to others was provided with a ‘Trivia Night’ at the end of February. We sponsored tables of 8 people to eat together and take part in a good spirited game of trivia. We encouraged each table to have a few guests who do not currently attend our church. This is a fun evening where our members can invite friends to a non-threatening (unless you are too competitive) environment.
This summer our children’s ministry will be putting on a ‘Vacation Bible School’, as their outreach to the community. Many people who attend churches as adults were affected in childhood by programs like our VBS. With the Spirits leading at least one child will accept Christ as their personal Savior this year through this labor of love.
Our student ministry has weekly programming, in which to invite friends, as well as, a once a year trip to show Christ’s love to those in need.
In order to reach our global community we have a network of missionaries that we help support throughout the world and within the United States. These missionaries allow us to reach areas that most of us would never dream of going.
